Synopsis:
Our final lecture of 2025 is presented by film-maker Andrew Blow and covers the story behind the discovery of the only known film that captured the Lincoln tanks on the testing ground of William Foster and Co in WW1.
The story behind the film is explained by Andrew and he will play the film and show images from it. Andrew will describe how his media work for Yorkshire TV led to his meeting with the third man in the room when Tritton and Wilson invented the tank, Foster's Chief Draughtsman William Rigby, who was aged 89 when Andrew met him.
Andrew Blow (ex Yorkshire TV) is a film-maker who has been running Lincoln-based Blow by Blow Productions for over 30 years. Andrew began his career as a journalist working in newspapers, local and commercial radio before joining Yorkshire TV’s news-gathering operation for a 13 year stint. His long involvement with the Lincoln tank story goes back to his YTV days as he will explain.
Doors open at 7.00 PM
Lecture starts at 7.30 PM. There will be a short interval for tea / coffee and the raffle.
Event closes approx 9.45 PM.
